Lean thinking started in the 1500s but Henry Ford was the first person to apply it to the whole manufacturing process. Six Sigma methodology was developed in early 1980s and has been regarded as one of the ultimate standard to improve productivity and profit. Though not required but it is strongly recommended that the participant take the introductory Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt or similar course to have a basic understanding of the methodologies.
